Project Update: KHUH Oncology Centre

Internal and external works are currently on-going at Bahrain’s new KHUH Oncology Centre in Muharraq, engaging approximately 1,000 staff of GPZ’s workforce. The project is nearing 3 million safe man- hours without any lost time incidents.

The New Oncology Centre is a major extension to the existing King Hamad University Hospital in Bahrain. The completed facility will be a modern centre of excellence for the diagnosis and treatment of cancer patients throughout the Gulf region. The centre will utilise the latest technologies available, including Linear Accelerators, Brachytherapy, CT Scanner and MRI equipment.

The contract was awarded to GPZ by Bahrain Defence Force in July 2014, following intense competition with other international contracting firms. Construction works commenced in August 2014 and practical completion is expected in 2017.
